A Bit About Us

Camp Ember is a co-ed residential adventure camp based in Texas that serves youth in 2nd-11th grade. Ember has been a lifelong dream of founder and Director Brandon Johnson, and was established as a non-profit organization in May 2020. During his years working at Camp Lonehollow and whilst pursuing a Youth Development degree, Brandon received the sad news that the Lonehollow program was coming to an end. Brandon saw first hand the positive impact Lonehollow had on it's campers and he was determined that Camp Ember should follow suit. 

As an organization we are committed to building a place that is more than just a summer camp. We are small now but have BIG ambitions! Ember has asperations to run year-round gap year programs for the underprivileged youth of Texas, as well as providing education and retreats for schools and community-based groups. 

Currently, we do not have an exact date for when we will be fully operational as a summer camp, but are currently running annual high adventure trips. Click on our programs page to find out more about our trip in 2021!

It is our goal to purchase a property in the uncoming years to host our summer camp, along with our gap-year program and foster camp. This will allow us to serve more youth through Ember. We will also host private and corporate events including parties, weddings, and retreats. 

 

Ember is a non-profit organization; our income is invested back into the programs and facilities, allowing us to offer premier services to our youth.

At the beginning of 2020, we started applying for grants to aid our journey to become the most modern camp in Texas. As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of the community through donations from individuals, corporations, and small businesses. If you do wish to donate we would be truly grateful.
